Hi. I have a new WD My Book 8TB. I'll be using it on a Windows Lenovo Laptop, for storing large collections of movies, personal files, sociala backup etc etc.

I already put on some large data and now, while I was coming data from my internal disk I noticed that what was 1GB on the source disk turned out to be 7GB on the destination HDD. Went to check it and discovered the file system is exFAT (while on internal disk it's NTFS).

I'm thinking to download what was copied to it somewhere else and format it to NTFS, as with so much data loss my 8TB could effectively end up storing just 1TB+ of actual data.....

Is that the best option/idea or did I miss something?
