India monthly rainfall in August fell below 190mm for the first time in record to 161.77 mm last month. The impact this will have on agriculture is huge with more than half our country dependent on rainfall for irrigation.

We should expect a severe drought and prepare for it. Ideally, the Union govt should, but unless the drought threatens to affect hum do or votes, humare do will treat us like they treat Manipur.

I shudder thinking how it will be in India as climate change worsens. There is any barely adaptation policies being implemented.

Under Modi's regime, it'll be like covid deaths of wave 2 on steroids but ignored by Modi-Shah like Manipur. remember the mass funerals? remember the mass graves on the banks of the Ganga? remember how their grave-coverings, the ramnami-chadars, were taken away by the govt to hide the no.of dead?

We're getting a real-time lesson on 'those who fogert histry are doomed to repeat it' .

Under anyone else, there'll still be mass deaths, but the govt will step in to do atleast something.
