Sure - right-wing politics says more money for defense means less for unimportant social programs like health and education (and environment). Of course they are.

"Defense" spending is also good news for the fossil fuel industry and the politicians in bed with it. As far as I know, military CO2 emissions aren't even included in most by-country greenhouse gas emission measurements
