Everything hip-hop, R&B and Future Beats! The latest mixtapes, videos, news, and anything else hip-hop/R&B/Future Beats related from your favorite artists

Rules:

It is that time again! Common debuted as a solo artist in 1992 and has been doing it ever since. There really is not enough I can say about Common, he has been killing the game forever. Instead I'll leave his list of awards and nominations.

And something he has that I don't think many other artists do, which is a Wikipedia page that is just a (mostly?) complete list of his songs. Not sure why this exists but it is neat.

Easily I keep returning to faithful. The song is just so deep in a duality type of thing. Like at face value on a religious level and a comment on sexism in hip hop.

Edit - and that's ignoring the old school Kanye production.

I'll get us started by revealing that I am incredibly basic. My favorite Common song is also his most streamed song on Spotify by a massive margin. The People is off of his 2007 album Finding Forever. It is a good song.

My next favorite is actually his debut single, off of his debut album as a solo artist. Take it EZ was back when he was rapping as Common Sense. I had a really big backpack phase in High School and I stayed listening to this and Communism from his 2nd album.
