I might suggest that indeed the brand Tums is named for your tumtum based on the originating phrase “Tums for the Tummy” and the fact that tumtum is derived from the word tummy, thus there may be no deception here only indigestion from too many brownies

oh my bad i got to the “[it] was named after Howe’s uncle” bit and stopped. but it was the company which was named after the inventor’s uncle… the product was indeed named after that radio slogan you quote.
