Does anyone have the link to the video referenced here? I am trying to find it to send it to a right winger that’s in denial about their party.

Edit: I found it. I’m not going to link it here because Jesus fucking Christ is it triggering. He says exactly what they quote in the video. Honestly, don’t watch it.

I just searched for the article's quotation in duckduckgo, then selected "video" results at the top.

If you are trying to win an argument, watch out for the narrow loophole: your opponent may claim that adults can still get non-federally-funded trans healthcare, if they can still find a doctor after that private right of action chilling effect. The loophole is so narrow as to be useless, and the video demonstrates Trump clearly wishes to stop all trans healthcare.

Thanks, yeah honestly based on my conversations with the dude he doesn’t seem evil, just misinformed.

I think based on the few conversations I’ve had with him he believes that the puberty blockers on their own cause long term effects, and that large numbers of minors in this country have affirming surgeries. I countered that no they don’t and that the number of minors who get surgery is incredibly low.

I am currently researching scholarly sources for both points - if anyone has high quality resources I’d appreciate them.

Bless your heart, but you're not going to win that debate.

Yeah, I’ll probably fail but maybe not. If nobody tries, nothing will get better.

Has he restated this recently? It seems the original comment was back in May, hopefully he just forgot.

He forgets a lot of the crazy things he says. That original (unconstitutional) plan has likely leaked out of his head, but he will probably do some other terrible thing. Trans people will need to watch out for his senile whims.

Fingers crossed that RFK will transmit a worm to him or something by giving him raw milk and he just sits tweeting for the next 4 years

I think he will happily restrict access to healthcare for most people, and especially groups of people he doesn’t like.
