I wouldn't bother watching minute-by-minute. There is a decent chance that some swing state will be close enough to trigger a recount, and/or one side files lawsuits challenging the results. This circus is far from over.
It took about a week for Biden to be declared the winner last time IIRC.
What I'm really dreading is another Bush v. Gore, which would almost certainly result the same as it did the first time around.

Huh? First of all the Electoral College has never not been the basis for presidential elections, and second of all that election had nothing to do with the Electoral College. It had to do with hanging chads, Florida governor Jeb Bush, and the Supreme Court.
Just drink alcohol in the basement alone and check the internet in a week.

all of our media is controlled by capitalists so i plan on going with organizations that have had a reliable history within the last decade or so; like democracynow or npr.
Is it bad that I get most of my non-local news from foreign sources? I do look at the AP and NPR but I usually go to the BBC or Reuters first and I almost always check the CSM for international stories I want more information on.
Reuters, BBC are fine, AP as well. Al Jazeera is good too. Always be aware of the media biases, nevertheless. Look how they frame and write.
Do they say:
[ethnic thing] arrested and stopped by Police...
or do they say:
Police murders person...
and;
Trump victim of woke witchhunt / Harris loyal to Israel
or:
"The elections have started."

The BBC and Reuters have both gone way, way downhill in recent years, but the concept is reasonably valid. AP and NPR are still good. Aljazeera is actually pretty decent for US news, though I'm not sure if that's true for US news related to the middle east.
I think Al Jazeera is good for news related to the middle east - Al Jazeera has an Arab bias, the same way US news has a US/Israel bias. When there's a conflict between US/Israel and the Arabs, I tend to be more sympathetic to the Arabs, so I prefer their news. Somebody with politics different from mine would disagree.

very true and if it weren't for the tireless efforts of their journalists i would have classified it as the same category as the others.
i think that the best you can do under the overwhelming circumstances in my country is to try and i think that they are trying despite their own biases manifesting themselves from time to time and their perpetual funding dance with partners like the imperial gov't and the american oligarchs.
Most of the major newspapers (this is from a UK perspective but I'd imagine they're accessible in other places) have a live news page for big developing news stories - the BBC site is probably a good unbiased-ish one

Depending on which bit of the market you look at I suspect it could also go up.
I think the US news sites are going to post their live updates to their websites too, that is at least how it was the last few presidential elections (I think I mostly used CNN). That is the same data they use for their news coverage, so you could use that; but watching live television will give you a clue when important updates have happened on them.
Of course you could just follow election-related hashtags on Mastodon to get a wide variety of people shouting all kinds of things about the election.
Some More News will do a livestream of the results. They are usually on point with their analysis and sources.
Maybe good ol newspapers or eventually check if the federal government has an official result page
The federal government doesnβt run the elections so youβd have to check the 51 Secretary of State (or equivalent) sites to actually get live results.
Local news usually have a webpage or a YouTube channel keeping track of stuff too.
Hasan Poker ain't for everyone but he's super knowledgeable and provides great context for ongoing issues. I mainly watch on YouTube so the clips are edited down and even more context (charts, sources, etc) are added.
Your state likely has a web page designated for election results, so you could get information straight from the source for everything you voted for in your state and see which way your state goes for the presidential election. Your county website may also have a page to show whether any propositions were accepted or rejected.
I'm not sure about a better source to see where all 50 states' results are reported. Maybe Balllotpedia has something that updates. I'm not sure the federal government would have something because the official results won't happen until January 6 when a joint session of Congress reads and counts the votes from the Electoral College (who doesn't vote until December 17).

For just the results. Decision Desk HQ gets updated quickly, as they provide data to media outlets and others. I donβt think they require a subscription just for results. The AP does the same and generally βcallsβ states anyway. (As in, the networks will call the results when the AP does, though some have extra requirements like their own data team agreeing.)
Probably europe or Australia. Though I know some people who have no complaints about doing it in Thailand
