That's the messed up thing about growing older.

How many people can quote 'Young Frankenstein' from memory?

RIP Terri Garr

I'm making sure the next generation knows, don't worry

For those who don't know, Terri Garr was in an episode of Star Trek TOS. She played a 20th Century woman who becomes involved with an intergalactic secret agent.

In a better timeline, that show ran five seasons...

This may be the most confusing blend of wholesome, based, creepy, comforting, stupid, and metal-as-fuck thing I have yet seen in 35 years on the internet. And yet its already 12 years old. I love it.

Welcome to Night Vale

[–] whaleross@lemmy.world 14 points 10 months ago

This reminds me of the Lonely Funeral Project in The Netherlands where a poet has taken upon himself to say words at funerals where nobody has claimed the deceased.

I used to love me some Nightvale

[–] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 10 months ago (3 children)

Wow, they are still going. I stopped listening some time in 2019. Can't imagine going through all that backlog again

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 4 points 10 months ago

My biggest problem with the podcasts I once loved. I fully stopped listening to anything for like 6 months in 2020, so now I have four years of backlog, and the part where I left off was right around The Worst Time Of Our Lives...

The only podcast I try to keep up with these days is Hey Riddle Riddle, and even then I tend to be like 6 months behind

I deeply loved I Only Listen to the Mountain Goats, season 2 was my introduction to In League with Dragons.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

I could never get into tbat podcast. I.did love Alice isn't Dead and bought the book. But the Nightval podcast couldn't get into for some reason.

But I have a lot like that. Like Tanis, and The Black File Tapes. I enjoyed them until they went to far.

Imagine finding out you were sad because you got assigned Margaret Thatcher.

The goddess of grief

[–] Klear@sh.itjust.works 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Ok, and where is that random existential dread coming from?

[–] Donkter@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Assigned displacement from someone absurdly confident about passing a test or job interview.

This is just a scheme of Big Dead to make more people die so they can distribute more mourning

karma isnt just about "them"
