Most houses only give out little .22's for Halloween, but go to the ritzy neighborhoods and you'll get full sized DEagles and P-90s.

[–] Nasan@sopuli.xyz 6 points 10 months ago

P90, it's Secret Service sponsored entrapment.

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 10 months ago

A p90 and not a complementary Five-seveN?! How unamerican.

Kids just primarily prefer a handgun cartridge that's suitable for putting into a rifle for game hunting. It simplifies what sort of ammunition to carry in their backpack. .45 long colt or .357 magnum should do the trick. 10mm auto if you're dead set on semiautomatic.

[–] HowManyNimons@lemmy.world 54 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Lunatics put blades in those things.

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 27 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They're called bayonets, sir.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 4 points 10 months ago

He's talking about the ones in the licking hole.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

No no, no, the lunatics put trigger locks on those here.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 32 points 10 months ago

This is how you stop school shootings. Good kids with guns stop bad kids with guns.

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 28 points 10 months ago

Lawful evil kid standing behind a tree spawn camping the newly armed trick or treaters

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 27 points 10 months ago

Give some kids some candy, they eat candy for a day.

Give them a handgun and they eat candy wherever they fucking want.

Come on guys let’s go to the Hendersons house they give Full Auto’s, we can egg this house later.

[–] iii@mander.xyz 13 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Americans are so generous.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com -4 points 10 months ago

Of all the shitting Trump does to immigrants, he signed the bill into law that required giving each naturalized citizen a Glock and an AR-15 upon taking the oath.

[–] Assman@sh.itjust.works 10 points 10 months ago

I always eat a few of their bullets. That's called the Dad Tax

[–] YtA4QCam2A9j7EfTgHrH 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I hope they have at least 15 rounds each in them. Not a those shitty California clips.

[–] neanderthal@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago (2 children)

clips.

Magazines. Magazines include a feeding mechanism, usually a spring. Clips just hold bullets together.

[–] NoForwardslashS@sopuli.xyz 4 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Very pedantic for a neanderthal

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

Neanderthals were fairly progressive, mancaves came later.

[–] Flocklesscrow@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago

Facts are facts, otherwise they'd be opinions

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.world -1 points 10 months ago (3 children)

So then all magazines are clips, but not all clips are magazines.

[–] neanderthal@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Sort of. Another way of thinking about it. Clips feed magazines, magazines feed guns.

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.world -3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You missed my point. I own guns, know how to operate them, and know the names of the parts. I use magazine and clip interchangeably, because pointless pedantry doesn't contribute anything to the conversation.

[–] Flocklesscrow@lemm.ee 0 points 10 months ago

Certainly not to your side of it, eh?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

I think you would say the clip is inside the magazine.

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

No, you can have non-removable magazines. The tube in a pump-action shotgun is the magazine, but it's definitely not a clip.

[–] Dorkyd68@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago (2 children)

"I heard this house on only has compact 9mm hi points, pfft, they say the house next door is giving out full size sig sauers, let's go there"

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

gross they still have serial numbers

[–] prayer@sh.itjust.works 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Don't worry, there's always that one house that gives out files instead.

[–] bluewing@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

We have a dremal at home........

[–] bluewing@lemm.ee 0 points 10 months ago

I don't think anyone has ever accused HiPoint of ever manufacturing and marketing anything as a compact firearm. This is the company that will literally sell you a Yeet Cannon......

[–] Kalkaline@leminal.space 6 points 10 months ago (2 children)

What's up with Lemmy getting me to look up guns today?

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Texas got its power back and is posting again.

[–] doingthestuff@lemy.lol 2 points 10 months ago

Shooting guns at paper targets, sporting clays and other targets is tons of fun.i took my MIL to a quiet outdoor range to shoot for the first time in her life. A few months later she bought a Glock 17. Reduced capacity magazines because California, but she loves to go shooting.

[–] KrapKake@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

🎶 Kids With Guns🎶

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

probably would find that out here in the boonies further back

[–] Allonzee@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (2 children)

Wait, does Halloween even exist outside the US and its hat?

I thought it was just an us and our hat holiday.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Id imagine it exists everywhere the Catholic Church went. Most places likely didn't commercialize it to people like we did though.

Think it's called All Saints day in some places

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

In most of Europe, tomorrow evening most people will go to the graves of their former relatives and light candles, it is quite beutiful.

I am considering bringing my trusty kerosene fuled storm lantern for both ambience and finding my way in the dark chruch yards.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Do they give you your free candy when you get to the graves or is that later? When do you get the sweeties?

[–] notsure@fedia.io 2 points 10 months ago

not funny...funny...

[–] neanderthal@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They all have mags in them. Hopefully they aren't chambered.

[–] bluewing@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago

Well maybe only half of them are loaded. Have you priced ammo lately? It's getting more and more costly to fill a high capacity magazine these days. Let alone that many!
