  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.

Come to my place, I will let you pick all you want. I collected 5kg of those bastards in 2 hours last summer.

[–] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You got any good recipes for a harvest like that?

[–] BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 10 points 10 months ago

Yeah, I feed the slugs to my muscowy ducks, wait a while, and then apply a duck recipe.

Really? They're like the most common ones where I live and you have to be careful not to step on them because they tend to die trying to cross the streets.

I wonder if he's angry?

PS: I care. I care very much about you and this lovely slug. Thank you for taking the time to share!

As a redhead, my first thought wasn't "it looks angry" but "aww it's a natural carrottop".

[–] TragicNotCute@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

So wrong. I liked seeing your picture of the slug, I don’t see many slugs or snails around here at all. Thanks for sharing

Sometimes you just gotta come out of your shell.

[–] shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The little slimer is so cute. Where did you find them?

It's raining, so I found it in a random wall from an abandoned house nearby the mini market I was buying some bread

I dunno, looks pretty fucking cool to me.

Yeah, the image could be better resolution, and maybe a tad differently focused, but it gets the job done of showing a cool critter with great color and framing.

Gross storytime... Once when I was walking on the sidewalk to my apartment when it was pitch black outside, I stepped on something and heard a POP like when you used to blow up the little plastic sandwich baggies at lunch and pop them.

It was a slug. It had popped all over the sidewalk.

🤢🤮

That's no red slug. That's a timid but exhibitionist snail ;)

[–] shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago

It's learning to come out of its shell.

[–] Alice@beehaw.org 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Slugs are my favorite animal! I've also never seen a red one outside of pictures. Mostly either brown slugs or leopard slugs.

[–] shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Leopard slugs? As in they're spotted?

[–] Alice@beehaw.org 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

Oh that's why I was wondering. They're the ones indigenous to Eurasia. Where I am, we got the boring monochrome slugs.

Browsing on All I was 30% sure this picture was going to be from some slug enthusiast sub with a million users.
