One thing I remember when I saw this discussed before is that it doesn't take into account whether or not those vacant properties are inhabitable.

Nor their location. It doesn't help if a dying rural town has a hundred empty homes because nobody wants to move there.

Has anyone who is homeless actually ever been offended by the term homeless? Seems like one of those things where people are focusing on the wrong part of the issue
