I suppose we'll have to wait and see but the history of "big alien announcement coming within weeks" headlines doesn't make me hopeful. However, he is more high-profile than most people making these claims and is going to look like a plum if nothing happens.
Worth noting he made the first claims about this back in August but it seems things have moved on since then, which would suggest the information he is being fed has updated with time. Could still be someone pulling his leg.
