I see that even in the 20th century we still had the landlord special

One of the few times we don't get to see Everett bashing someone over the head with something

He beat that man to death

Everett is displeased that the rental lacks a bathroom, something many would consider a necessity for a living space (and would these days be legally required).

His statement in the second panel reveals that he has knocked out the landlord and left him lying in the living room.

Houses without bathrooms might use an outhouse instead.

It's the 20th century, Rolando. Let us have indoor plumbing.

Most people outside of large cities didn't have indoor toilets around 1900

Pretty sure Everett is in a city.

But you're only five, as previously established.

exactly that is the case, fortunately life is still simple and no one judges me for my stupidity. Did i mention that i love cereals and cartoons in the morning?
