I don't understand American sandwiches, why even bother with the bread?
This is like a $30 sandwich from one of the most famous delis in the country. I would not describe this as a typical American sandwich.
You could easily split a single one of these sandwiches four ways and share some of their delicious side orders as well.
The bread isn't a mere mechanical contrivance to keep your hands clean. The bread is chosen to pair with the pastrami.
You have a point but dude throwing everything in the fridge between two thinly sliced pieces of bread is amazingly delicious
the bread is where you grip it.
I came a little
At this point why even bother with the bread?
the bread really ties the sandwich together.
For anyone not familiar- Katz Deli is a somewhat famous sandwich place in NYC. Their primary menu item is the pastrami on rye sandwich, and it's like $20-$30. They slice the pastrami right in front of you, still warm.
I've only had it once but it was worth it.
30 dollars for a sandwich??? you could get a whole cow for that much here
It was worth it... Best pastrami I've ever had
Katzenfutter sandwich?
If you're the type of person to give their cat a $30 sandwich, I'm afraid there's a place in line reserved for you at the guillotine.
If they don't have normal cat food, they shall just give the cat 30€ cat food instead!
Try some of their sour pickles while there too.
I'm going to NY next week and really appreciate the reminder to go eat at Katz again. 🤤
It's great if you don't mind paying $25 for a sandwich
God tier Who cares what the "Best" is? Go try them all
