I have a Define R6 with several HDDs in it, but I have 3 drives that I am currently not using, but would like to be able to use (and expand in the future). The server is using a Ryzen 1600 on an Asus STRIX B350-F Gaming mobo, so no access to USB type C. I use my server mostly for Plex, AudiobookShelf, Kavita, the *arrs and related programs.

I believe I want to go with a DAS instead of a NAS mostly because NASes are more expensive, but also because I live with people I don't want to have direct access to my data over the network. This is the enclosure I believe I want.

Is there any reason I should not use something along these lines? I know I am missing out on RAID, but I don't currently feel like I need it. Any advice is welcome.

Thanks
