Yes. That's why in "best of" type posts, the real original poster is the OOP

Object-oriented Programming? MY KIND OF PEOPLE!

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 8 points 2 years ago

If you're down with OOP, you're down with me.

[–] lugal@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 years ago

I use OOP for the guy in the screenshot. Like for example a tweet isn't a repost (unless it's reposted obviously) but OOP would be the guy who posted the tweet on Twitter and not the first who posted the screenshot on lemmy

[–] degen@midwest.social 2 points 2 years ago

Ah yes, as in "And I OOP!"

Be the change you want to see

[–] ObsidianZed@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

It's like creating a riddle.

Sure, it could be fun in its own right, but it loses its magic and you can never experience it the same way as if someone else created it.

[–] cheddar@programming.dev 4 points 2 years ago

No, I like to miss stuff. I like to feel nostalgia, misery, and despair.

Reposter is still OP, as they are the original poster of this thread

Creator of the OC is OOP, Original-OP, as they were the original poster of the OC

[–] cheddar@programming.dev 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What if the creator of the OC didn't post their C? Let's say, I paid an artist for some art and then published it online. I'd be the OP, but the creator will never be the OOP.

[–] masterofn001@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You down with OPP?

Yeah, you know me.

I'm down with OPP.

[–] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

I’m upset that I had this same thought. Even my thoughts have an OOP.

On the internet, everything is a repost. We simply choose to have faith that an OP once walked this Earth, drizzling his seeds of thought all across the digital landscape. Praise be OP.

[–] cheddar@programming.dev 1 points 2 years ago

We simply choose to have faith that an OP once walked this Earth,

That's a fair point in the age of generative AI.

Ugh, I want to say old internet things, but I kinda like this place and don't wanna get banned :,(

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 2 points 2 years ago

We could start calling them Current Poster.

Has been needing a nerf for several releases.
