People talk about the black community having distrust in the medical community (came up a ton right around when the COVID vaccine came out) and they talk about Tuskegee and other times when black men and women were experimented on for medical purposes. And that is all valid. They don't talk about shit like this though. They don't talk about the fact that black people are massively more likely to die from asthma, or the increased cancer death rate, or the MASSIVELY increased rate of maternal mortality while giving birth. People talk about it like it is the result of history and not the result of right now. I know I wouldn't trust doctor's either if I was looking at the data and I saw that, statistically, my race made it more likely for me to get shit medical care or a bad medical outcome.

Preach. I remember watching some documentary about the maternal mortality rates and it's literally down to doctors and nurses just not giving black women the same care and attention as white women and this isn't just in America or the UK, it's worldwide.
And it saddens me that as time goes on, the record labels only promote money and sex rap, so there's no avenue for young children to learn via music that they need to know stuff like this.
I think like anything, it is up to the parents to educate their children. I don't blame the record labels because they promote what makes them the most money and I expect nothing better from them. The best we can do is make sure that the children in our lives know, so that if one day they end up in a position to help make a change, they can. And of course, to share articles like you did, so people who may not have anybody in their life to tell them about this stuff can learn.
