Have 12 total 5tb drives. Using for a small amount of data storage (not usually accessed), but am looking to do some sort of filecloud system where I can backup family phone pics and videos.

About 95% of the usage is for media storage which I use for Plex. Plex isn't used a ton, but could see some small increases in usage soon.

So am I better doing 2 different raid 5 arrays (where one is used for movies and other data, and the other for TV shows? Or just one raid 6 array that houses everything?

Or is there a better way entirely to do this?
