The plane carrying Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner paramilitary group, crashed as the result of an assassination plot but doesn’t appear to have been shot down by a surface-to-air missile, U.S. officials said.

Honestly, the only surprising part of this is that he died in a plane crash instead of being poisoned.

My suspicions are, Prigozhin was assassinated on the ground, with proof delivered to psycho putin. He was never on that plane. He was listed as a passenger. Putin wants proof, not a charred "maybe".
