Yeah it's not really "news" at this point? But... good to tell people perhaps, in case they somehow did not know? π
Like the person that reached over to literally pull the mask off of your very face, right after you told them that your child is immunocompromised and would die if ever exposed to the pandemic, that person maybe, just might, lack some measure of empathy?

I'm old enough to remember when Barack Obama described Sonia Sotomayor as having empathy and the right went nuts about it, largely describing empathy as a disqualifying trait for the supreme court
People whose politics revolve around hate donβt empathize with others?
Itβs a good idea to study things that seem like common sense. Sometimes what seems obvious isnβt really the case. No surprises this time, but in general, I mean.
Well, yeah. Here's how a libertarian view can be summised..
Gay marriage is illegal. I think the concept of marriage is pointless and disagree with it. Opportunity to vote for gay marriage comes along, obviously vote yes, nothing to think about there. Nothing about it takes liberties off anyone, it just gives them to people, regardless of whether I align or even agree with them or not, it's about them and not me. Making it about me and taking actions against liberties is obviously anti-liberal. That can only be achieved with poor empathy skills.
So then how would a conservative handle that same scenario, hm? Well for starters they'd hate me and the gays for "desecrating" their weird little religious legal love contract ceremonies that are entirely detached from love...
