I just finished reading the 42TB-power-surge thread story. That sucks big time. I don't even have an UnRaid setup or any proper NAS drives (I’m doing as much research as I can before making any big moves) and it seems like even power failures are enemies of the data-hoarding practice. So, how do I protect myself? What’s the best model for me with surge protection? I know that my breaker is prone to tripping once in a blue moon, and blackouts are always a 1/3 chance with a thunderstorm. I should mention that I’d like something that’ll save itself when I’m asleep, if possible. Automation, you know? Will I have to replace the UPS every so often? Any helpful buyer’s guides?
