I've read news on how kids lose his toe after chewed by these thing when their shoe get stuck by the platform, or the news from china where a mother fallen into the mechanism after going down the escalator, the mechanism cover aren't properly installed so the whole thing collapse when she step on it, in the end she died but able to save her baby from getting chewed by the thing.
Freaking thing is a nightmare machine waiting for prey.
