Did Elon turn it off or did it brick because the truck is garbage?

[–] takeda@lemmy.world 72 points 11 months ago

Probably the latter. CT is very fragile the text that it says that it is doing well on a battlefield is ridiculous.

Ignoring videos where CT stopped working for silly reasons (or even doors breaking of they are slammed), even the fact that is electric is currently a hurdle. They would have to carry generator with diesel to charge it, since there are no charging stations.

The whole story was propaganda and more to show how they get around sanctions.

good protection for the crew

It's completely unarmored. Unless your concern is sunburn, inclement weather, or possibly indecent exposure, it isn't gonna provide much by way of protection.

Also, nothing like having to check whether the post I'm reading is from !Ukraine@sopuli.xyz, !NonCredibleDefense@sh.itjust.works, or !NotTheOnion@lemmy.world. 2024, man.

I think the "bulletproof" claims are vastly over hyped. It can block 9mm and that's about it. Rifle rounds can easily penetrate it lol.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 17 points 11 months ago

The same is true for the door panels of a 70's car

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago

Not even bullshitproof.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago

Rifle rounds are often way more penetrative than people realize.

What do you call something that can stop 9mm bullets? It's not resistant to 9mm it's bullet proof.

So maybe it really just needs a qualifier like 9mm bullet proof.

But ya, calling it bullet proof without a qualifier is a bit much. Also not the glass, only the sides. 9mm side door bullet proof.

Yep, no one would say a bomb suit isn’t bomb proof because it can’t stop a nuke.

Nothing is truly bullet proof, you just need a bigger bullet.

And a denser bullet

That .50 mounted above the huge sunroof is going to blow out the glass sooner or later so it probably wouldn't protect from weather for very long

Hmm it is good to highlight if the company can remotely disable the vehicle.

That means they could also remotely change the driving characteristics, as long as it had a data connection. Like, disabling the brakes.

This dude is shit and musk is shit but this is a universal worry for web connected vehicles.

If I recall correctly such tampering was suspected to even be involved in a journalist's death way back in 2013. However this is speculation.

Well maybe your dumbass shouldn't've so publicly bragged about the little gift from musky that illegally breaks foreign sanctions? Just can't keep anything on the down-low, can you?

[–] InvertedParallax@lemm.ee 4 points 11 months ago

Yeah but neither was Kadyrov.

[–] VonReposti@feddit.dk 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

He looks like he came straight from the bullet farm in those pictures.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Believe him, baby, he's totally got a big penis. Look at all the bullets!

I don't even think Elon gifted it to him?

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Funny, Musk is usually all pals with power brokers, they remind him of home.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 2 points 11 months ago

I don't think musk actually gave him this
