Hi I was looking over the details of my encrypted drives. These were old drives which had data written and deleted multiple times. When I encrypted them, I encrypted them with option "Encrypt used space only." I realize now that is not the most secure. They are 3Tb and 6TB drives. I was wondering:

  1. Should I turn off encryptions and encrypt the whole HD again. This will take a long long time. One is 75% full other is 50% full.
  2. Or can I just filling the remaining empty space with random data (Large Zip files of backed up family photos) and just fill the drives. Then delete these extra files, this is likely to be much faster. I am thinking, this in essence will encrypt the unused space?

Thanks for your input.
