MS's entire buisness model is bending over backwards for B2B deals to retain their market share

What would be an alternative?

[–] Oha@lemmy.ohaa.xyz 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

some custom made Linux distro that only displays one program

Very easy to do actually, easier than maintaining windows I would think...

But if it breaks can I send it into xyz computer repair? They only fix windows machines.

The screen company should have their own it to fix stuff as the only thing they do is sell the ad software

What else are they going to run that has all the same features and programs?

How is touch screen support on Linux? I haven't read about it in years now

[–] Oha@lemmy.ohaa.xyz 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

works pretty well with most generic touch screens

That's good to hear. I looked at installing Linux on an old 2 in 1 laptop I had with minimal storage but apparently there was issues with the touchscreen implementation. Maybe I'll have to look into it again

I'm running Sparky on my ancient laptop, a weird Debian-based lightweight distro, and touch works as good as windows after a little setup.
