Full tower PC with 12 HDDs, no raid, just a dumb SMB file server running on a Win10 machine. While the new controller can see all 8 drives connected in the bios, windows boots up and only sees the 4 drives connected to the internal controller (built into the motherboard).

Watching a few videos it looks like I need to set this up in the bios, but what few videos I have seen involve initializing the hard drives or combining drives into a raid config and I dont need to combine drives and I certainly dont want to lose any data.

Is there a guide I can look at to set this up? The older 9240-8i was plug n play. Connect 8 drives, boot it up and 8 drives show up in Windows.
