I currently have to OWC Thunderbay 4s, one is 16TB and the other is 20TB. I don't know that I need RAID 5 (and I use Softraid but am now being asked to pay $149 and $79 per year to get the premium features).

I had a drive go bad today and its replacement will be here tomorrow. Curious of my options to get away from SoftRaid and do I even need RAID 5? My 20TB is a backup of my 16TB and I have Crashplan for all of my imagery and I use Time Machine for my local machine.
