Not sure if this is the right subreddit but I couldn't find much else. Basically, I upgraded my laptop's SSD from 512 GB to 2TB last night. I used Macrium Reflect to save a disk image to a USB thumb drive, and then booted off the USB and did a system restore. After that I took out the USB, booted normally, and things seem to work okay. However, it took a scarily long time to boot up and display. It seems fine, but maybe kind of slow. I didn't have any way to just clone to my new drive, which I why I went with imaging. Would it have been better to clone the drive? Is it possible that I've lost some data, or will in the future? Should I buy an external m.2 bay, wait for it to show up, and wipe the drive and then clone it? Or does it not matter? I really can't tell even after researching for hours. All I know is that images are a compressed "screenshot" of a certain point on your system, while cloning copies but for bit. Thanks for any help you can give.
