Setup advice. NAS via WiFi repeater at home. Stupid idea or OK?

I want to improve my backup setup for home photos/videos/docs. Looking for advice. Current setup:

  • Main storage PC
  • Backup #1 external hardrive
  • Nextcloud on VPS (only docs + sync with phone)

Future setup:

  • Main storage PC
  • Backup #1 NAS with 4 slots (2nd slot for mirror, 3/4 for future expansion).
  • Backup #2 NAS at parents house (identical setup to #1 + network share)
  • Nextcloud stays the same

The problem:

I won't be able to connect NAS directly to the router and will need to use WiFi repeater that has Ethernet port. The speed and stability is going to be probably bad? :/

So if we remove backup #2 and network share between NAS, is it a stupid idea to buy NAS only to use it as offline and bring it from closet everytime I need it?
