Hi all,

since one of my HDDs is dying (I have 4x HGST Ultrastar 7K4000 3TB in a 2x2 ZFS mirror), I've decided to retire them all. For upgrade I want to go with 2x3 4TB HDDs and my local supplier has some good deals (good compared to what I usually have available; also I don't pay for shipping).

My choices are:

| Model | $/TB | €/TB | |

|

|

| | HGST 4TB 3,5" SAS 6Gb 7,2k HUS724040ALS640 0B26922 | $15,06 | €13,69 | | HGST Dell 4TB 3,5" SAS 6Gb 7,2k HUS724040ALS640 07J9RN 7J9RN | $19,17 | €17,42 | | Toshiba Dell 4TB 3,5" SAS 12Gb 7,2k MG04SCA40ENY 01MVTT 1MVTT | $23,21 | €21,10 | | Seagate Dell 4TB 3,5" SAS 12Gb 7,2K ST4000NM0135 0FCHXF FCHXF | $24,36 | €22,14 |

All drives were tested, error free, with SMART counters intact, and apparently below 50% of their usual lifetime.

Use case: generic NAS for our family, nothing performance intensive.

All comments appreciated.
