That poor cat, lit on fire after that. Are we sure that's enough time? This is some psychopath level abuse of an animal, don't lose track of these people when they leave prison.

[–] atx_aquarian@lemmy.world 42 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It's absolutely not enough time. Those are serial killers in the making.

[–] Telorand@reddthat.com 6 points 11 months ago

This was my thought as well. People who go out of their way to abuse animals typically wind up doing something worse later.

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago

Probably not, explicitly because the charge only applied to the kicking.

They could get longer if they find out who lit it on fire.

Meanwhile somebody focuses on Haitians...

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 42 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

Who incidentally didn't even do anything. There actually was a woman who ate a cat, but she was neither Haitian nor an immigrant.

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 19 points 11 months ago (1 children)

IIRC I believe the woman you are referencing wasn't even from Ohio.

[–] MagicShel@programming.dev 29 points 11 months ago (2 children)

They weren't even from earth.

Let me guess... Republican voter

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 15 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Texan is right there in the title. Probably not a voter.

[–] TipRing@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Beaumont, so good odds of being a conservative.

[–] kungen@feddit.nu 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Both of the men were Black, but who knows?

[–] teft@lemmy.world 18 points 11 months ago (1 children)

What has that to do with anything?

Republicans can be any race:

[–] kungen@feddit.nu 1 points 11 months ago

What has that to do with anything?

Absolutely nothing. Just like how political affiliation has nothing to do with their crime. Simply that the first comment was a bit much "give me upvotes please"-kind of comment for my taste.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 20 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Someone else, whose identity was not known when the case was presented to a grand jury, poured an accelerant on the cat and set it on fire, the indictment against Williams says. The animal running away on fire was also recorded on video.

What the fuck is wrong with people. I'm very against violence but I believe in violence if I see someone torturing a helpless animal.

[–] Big_Boss_77@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 11 months ago

This song comes to mind when I read stuff like this...

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 14 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Do animal torturers hang out with murderers in prison or are they beneath them?

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

are they beneath them

depends if it's lights out or not

[–] FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

In prison people fucking hate you if you hurt, women, animals, or children.

Otherwise they don’t really give a shit. According to a friend who served 15, murderers are kind of respected. And anyone who’se killed police is treated very well.

[–] Jiggle_Physics@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

Yeah, and a lot of the guys in there, that get all bent out of shape about things like hurting women, and children, have long DV records. It is more a way of creating a caste system than most of these people actually giving a shit.

[–] FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

Yeah. The whole “pass your papers” thing.

[–] Jiggle_Physics@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

yeah, like any hierarchy, is is all hypocritical, and based on BS. Ultimately it comes down to "I am right, and anyone not like me, or that disagrees with me, isn't"

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

Good. He deserves it.

[–] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

My favorite part of the anchor movie. But that was definitely a fake dog.

[–] PrincessLeiasCat@sh.itjust.works 5 points 11 months ago

I read about enough as I could stomach, and I saw the thing about the fire. I had to nope out after that.

Do we know if the poor cat made it after all of this abuse? Was it possible someone rescued it? I want to believe :(

[–] KonalaKoala@lemmy.world 0 points 10 months ago

Yeah, he needs to learn that its against animal cruelty laws to use a feline as a substitute football to kick a field goal. If that ever happened on the field during any football game, that would most likely end up being instant disqualification for the penalty.
