Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

I've tried to post images like 5 times and only once was it actually successfull. On my pc it gives a lot of error messages too without really clarifying what format the upload should be. Is there a suggested method (like uploading to imgur first and linking that url) or something?

There are a lot of rough edges with error reporting in lemmy, anything that you can do that can fail doesn't always tells you why.
In this case, yeah, it'll be better to post a link of the image hosted in another service, this way you also help the lemmy servers to not fill their disk so quickly.

I don't know about the Website/pc. On jerboa, I can post images, and they get hosted on the instance where my account is.

However I can't find a way to post gifs, or videos. I could maybe be instance dependent?

I however created an account on a peertube server to share videos here. It's not well integrated in the posts, as the user has to go to the website where it's hosted, but for now there isn't really other solutions.
