Hello everyone.
Please be so kind and help me in the following matter, given the following:
- I am currently looking for a RELIABLE 2.5 drive for general-archiving purposes. .. i.e., from time to time, when the local (laptop) drive is full, than I'd like to archive is some data from it (pictures, docs, etc) to that HDD. The rest of the time, the respective drive would be kept in a safe storage.
- I am considering both an external drive or a "barebones" drive that I would keep in an aluminum hdd rack
- I am willing to consider allocating an extra budget for the drive itself, but stuff like NAS and RAID and etc are out of the question for me.
- Also, as I am based in the EU, and here (at lease in my country) prices for "more modern storage" solutions such as larger-size SSDs or NVMEs etc. are a bit prohibitive, so I have to narrow down my choices between options such as (an these are ONLY some examples I am giving you to see the choices I am faced with): Seagate Expansion Portable, HDD WD Red Plus, HDD WD purple, Seagate exapansion desktop, hdd seagate iron wolf pro, toshipa P300 hdd etc etc etc.
- I specifically mentioned the 4TB capacity because this would be the ideal size. for me...meaning it will probably be more than enough for ALL future data-storing needs. 4TB is ideal for me as a less capacity would not fit my use case while a larger one would be an overkill.
I know that especially older-type drives are more inclined to having issues compared to modern SSDs/NVMEs etc, but I was hoping maybe you guys can recommend a decent enough solution for my use case.
