Hey guys, I’m relatively new to the more in-depth side of data hoarding and need some advice.

After some research, I feel an off the shelf NAS isn’t quite what I need as they’re expensive and the files that will be stored will only really be accessed by me on my PC or Plex clients on the home network with all the heavy lifting done by my PC.

The QNAP TR-004 looks like a solid option for the price but I have heard some negative comments about it surrounding wake time.

My use case is I’m a photographer so I intend to store RAW images, some games and my Plex library.
