Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my dual-boot setup, which I'm trying to resolve. Here’s the situation:

I used to have a dual-boot setup with Linux and Windows. I had a partition on my computer’s disk dedicated to Linux, and when the computer started, it would run through GRUB, allowing me to select either Windows or Linux.

Recently, I deleted the Linux partition from my computer while I was on Windows. I went to Disk Management and deleted the Linux partition. However, when I restarted my computer, GRUB still appeared, but this time, it generated a "GRUB rescue" error and couldn’t boot into Windows.

My Questions:

  1. Why is GRUB Still Appearing? Even though I deleted the Linux partition, GRUB still appears when I start the computer. Why is this happening? Shouldn’t GRUB be gone along with the Linux partition? Here is an image of my boot order:
  2. BIOS Boot Order Seems Correct, So Why GRUB? I’ve already checked the BIOS and set the boot order to prioritize the OS Boot Manager (Windows Boot Manager) first, followed by USB devices, etc. There’s no mention of Linux in the boot order, so why does GRUB keep coming back? Here is an image of the boot order: Boot Order Image
  3. Why Does Secure Boot Fix the Issue? As a workaround, I enabled Secure Boot in the BIOS, and now the computer boots into Windows normally. But as soon as I disable Secure Boot, GRUB comes back. Why does enabling Secure Boot allow Windows to boot normally, and what’s the core issue here? Here is an image of the Secure Boot setting: Secure Boot Image
  4. What Are These Other Partitions in Disk Management? In Disk Management, I see several partitions: a small 250MB "EFI System Partition," the main Windows C: partition, a 1GB "Healthy (Primary Partition)," another 1GB "Healthy (Recovery Partition)," and a 500MB unallocated partition. What are these partitions for, and could they be causing the boot issues? Also, why can’t I allocate the 500MB unallocated space to anything? Here is an image of the partitions: Partition Image

I’m trying to understand this once and for all, so I’d really grateful if someone could help me understand and solve this issues.

Thanks
