Hello,

I am looking at the Synology DS223j and the DS423. Seems like the DS423 is faster and has two extra bays? Synology’s website doesn’t make it easy.

Some questions:

  • my father has an 18TB Exos HDD in his desktop that he uses for mass storage. Can I take that HDD and plug it into the Synology NAS?
  • apart from the DS423 or DS223J are there any other options?

Use case is going to be running a Plex server, sharing files, etc.
