Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a couple of USB drives from Amazon Mexico and I'm a bit concerned about their authenticity and potential security risks. Here are the details:

  • Kingston USB Drive: 128 GB for $10 (purchased directly from Amazon Mexico)
  • Kingston USB Drive: 64 GB for $6 (purchased directly from Amazon Mexico)
  • SanDisk USB Drive: 64 GB for $9 each (bought from a third-party seller on Amazon Mexico with 95% positive feedback, a 4.8/5 rating, and around 30k reviews)

I know it might sound paranoid, but I'm planning to store sensitive data on these drives and want to make sure they're not counterfeit or infected with malware. The drives look legit, but I’m still concerned.

Is there a way to check if these USB drives are genuine and free from malware before connecting them to my MacBook Air? Should I be worried, or is there a way to test them safely?

Any advice or reassurances would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
