Why would they give up when they had all those seats in the legislature assembly and all that fundraising?

Liberal path to success:

  1. rename party
  2. chuck principles out of the window
  3. endorse conservatives
  4. ...profit?

  1. adjust policies
  2. represent all constituents
  3. be true to your principles
  4. go to elections

This gives the edge to the first BC Conservatives win in October.

Only if all the votes transfer over, but some will not. A lot of the voters who still wanted to vote BCU up until today didn't want to switch to the Conservatives because they were too far right in their policies. Some of them will simply not vote at all, and a small portion may slide left instead.

Still overall advantageous for the Conservatives though.
