I’m planning to upgrade my 2-bay NAS to two Seagate X18 16TB. Because im running RAID1 and regularly backup on external off-site drives I’m willing to risk buying recertified HDDs in order to save some money.

I want to run a full surface test on the drives first though and I don’t want the test to run on the NAS but on a desktop PC I have.

Which tool would you recommend (can be windows or Linux, CLI or GUI doesn’t matter) which could test both drives simultaneously in order to save some time/or at least the hassle to switch the drives and start another test? As I’ve read 16TB can take some time.

I have tested drives before with windows CHECKDISK /x /r /f wich ran in cmd.exe but I don’t know if 2 instances would work this way.
