Using a different Proton Version

Have you tried turning off Proton compatibility layer? Afaik CSGO runs natively on Linux

Sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't. I had to delete the menu background video folder because the game would crash on startup if I didn't. It works now, though.

I had problems after an update a while back until I used the

-vulkan launch option. You could try that!

I wouldn't use Proton to play this game as it had more problems on my machine than native Linux version. Try using Steam Linux Runtime in Steam's compatibility tab.

Just confirming other comments. No need to use proton for CSGO, just use the native linux version, it works fine no issues
