It's A Digital Disease!

I just bought a 4tb T7 for use with Logic on a Mac. I transferred all of my music files on to it, about 2.7tb. So 1.3tb of space left.

The initial transfer took quite a long time but I wasn’t paying much attention and let it go all night.

Now I’m seeing small transfers of 2gb taking like 20 minutes. Seems to be going at around 10mb/s.

When I test with Samsung Magician it says about 400mb/s. It also says the drive is healthy. Same with Black Magic.

Why are the tests running fine, but actual transfers taking forever?

Sumsung Magician also has a warning that I should be using a different USB port. I’m just plugging directly into the USB-C on my M1 mbp.

Any ideas how to speed up my drive?
