Hello. So, this might be weird, but I don't know where to post. I was recently in the hospital and they noticed a lesion on my left ovary. It has doubled in size in about a year. According to the ultrasound, it's nonechoic and has blood flow. Doctor was concerned enough to order an MRI. Results came back to MyChart after a week and a couple of days. Only the report (see below) says absolutely nothing about the mass? Is it possible they're hiding the information until I see a doctor? Why the hell? I'd rather just find out I have cancer. This sucks.

Obviously I'm not going to be able to get in to see a doctor for a few days, so any ideas? Am I just being paranoid and this is actually a good sign? Anyway, thank you!

IMPRESSION:

  1. MR findings suggestive of polycystic ovarian syndrome with numerous bilateral tiny ovarian follicles,
LEFT greater than RIGHT, causing enlargement of the bilateral LEFT greater than RIGHT ovaries. Estimated
volume of the LEFT ovary is 32 cc. Estimated volume of the RIGHT ovary is 19 cc. Clinical correlation is
    recommended.

  2. MR appearance of a mildly dominant 18 mm RIGHT ovarian hemorrhagic follicle, with a physiologic MR
appearance. Minimal trace of pelvic free peritoneal fluid.

  3. MR findings suggestive of mild uterine adenomyosis.

  4. IUD in place.

Narrative
PROCEDURE: MRI PELVIS W WO CONTRAST

TECHNIQUE: MRI pelvis protocol without and with intravenous contrast.

Gadoterate meglumine (CLARISCAN) 10 MMOL/20ML injection 26.68 mL

HISTORY: 2.9 cm L ovarian mass, ct and u/s done at UI Health

COMPARISON: Selected images from pelvic ultrasound 11/16/2021, CT abdomen and pelvis 11/10/2021. Report
of outside CT abdomen and pelvis 7/16/2023, outside pelvic ultrasound 7/17/2023. These outside images are
not available for direct comparison at this time.

FINDINGS:

The uterus measures approximately 8.5 cm in length, 4.0 cm in AP dimension and 4.4 cm in width.

The endometrial complex measures approximately 7 mm in thickness.

MR findings suggestive of mild uterine adenomyomatosis with evidence of thickening of the junctional zone
of the uterine body and fundus, measuring approximately 12 mm in thickness.

No focal myometrial mass lesions are identified.

MR appearance of an intrauterine device within the endometrial cavity, with a grossly unremarkable MR
appearance.

The LEFT ovary measures approximately 6.4 cm in superior inferior dimension on sagittal images, 2.8 cm in
AP dimension and 3.4 cm in width on coronal images. Estimated volume of the LEFT ovary is 32 cc.

The RIGHT ovary measures approximately 5.1 cm in superior inferior dimension on sagittal images, 2.5 cm
in width and 3.1 cm in width on coronal images. Estimated volume of the RIGHT ovary is 19 cc.

The bilateral ovaries appear enlarged, LEFT greater than RIGHT, secondary to numerous tiny ovarian
follicles.

Numerous tiny ovarian follicles appear arranged along the periphery within the LEFT ovary, and also
appear arranged along the periphery within the RIGHT ovary.

On the order of roughly 30 or so of these tiny LEFT ovarian follicles are noted and on the order of
roughly 20 or so of these tiny RIGHT ovarian follicles are noted.

Appearance of a slightly dominant hemorrhagic RIGHT ovarian follicle measuring approximately 18 mm,
within a physiologic MR appearance.

Minimal trace of free peritoneal fluid.
