Hello!

I need a way for my father in law to keep his family photos safe.

His PC knowledge is on "i can burn MP3 CD, but definately cant reinstall windows drivers" level.

I wanted to get him a good external drive, and buy him subscription for some cloud that is easy to use, like google drive. He could look at and show people photos from cloud from his laptop, and keep a safe copy on external hard drive.

So, for external harddrive (1TB will be enough, its just already sorted through photos that are "presentable", not photo dump with everything, so not that many) - is it HDD or SSD? Speed doesnt matter, it will only be for writing new photos into it, and to get them back if cloud fails.

And which cloud? Is google drive safe? I remember i had problems with it, not all the photos that were in folders were showing and some stuff, is it still like this? If not google drive, what would be best?

Thanks!
