You might like recent Pokemon?

It's kind of difficult to give recommendations solely off of liking one show. What did you like about it?

I'm actually working my way thru the series but I just wanted to see what other animes pokemon folks got into

  • Digimon

The first season of Digimon

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Was gonna say. Is it on any of the major streamers?

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

I think Hulu. Or it was…I had my son watching the first few episodes

Try asking in !anime@ani.social

I liked "Spy x Family" and "Little Witch Academia" that could be targetted at similar demographic.

Just one title without specyfing what you liked about it isn't enough.

You'd like Doctor Stone.

Senku is an incredibly smart high schooler who wants to be an astronaut like his dad. Instead, every human being on earth is turned to stone in a flash of mysterious green light. Six thousand years later, Senku's body breaks out of the stone. He's all alone in a world with no people, no technology, and no society. Fortunately, Senku has the power of science on his side. He vows to sprint up the technology tree and accomplish in his own lifetime what took humanity 10,000 years the first time around. He still wants to go to space.

Dragonball?

One Piece. It deserves all the praise it gets.

Goblin Slayer: It's about a guy who travels all over the place and eventually works his way up to collecting all the different types of goblins.

[–] Berttheduck@lemmy.ml 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Don't be a dick, that's really not a helpful recommendation.

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago (3 children)

Is it because the protag kills the goblins? Unfamiliar with this show

[–] Berttheduck@lemmy.ml 7 points 11 months ago

It's really dark, graphically violent, a bit (possibly outright) rapey, it's about as far away from the light-hearted exploration and making friends of Pokémon as possible.

[–] riskable@programming.dev 4 points 11 months ago

Yeah. He's obsessed with killing goblins and there's actually several different kinds he ends up dealing with along with ogres and some other, stranger monsters.

It's a great show 👍

[–] MindTraveller@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 months ago

Episode 1 has a rape scene.

[–] IronKrill@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 months ago

I downvoted you because this guy should absolutely not watch Goblin Slayer lol but I found your comment funny. Keep it up, slayer.
