I have a Dell PERC H200 Raid controller installed in my homelab server. It gets detected and shows up in BIOS, buy when I enter the configuration I see no disks attached. There are in fact two disks connected but somehow they don't get shown/detected by the controller.

I have an Inter-Tech IPC 4U-4410 case with hot-swap bays. The backplate for these bays have SATA connectors, so I connected the Dell controller with SAS to 4x SATA cable to the two bays with the disks. The bays themselves support both SATA and SAS and in fact the two disks are SAS disks. The led indicators on the bays go on when I boot the server (probably only indicating power is provided to the disks in there).

Could I be dealing with a compatibility issue? As far as I have read I believed I could connect and get disks working this way, but I am starting to doubt this now.

Looking forward to what you guys think :)
