Hey everyone, I apologize for the elementary question and perhaps misunderstanding here. I have a Synology that I use to backup some directories too.

I am trying to consolidate and merge an internal directory that’s pictures and videos to my Synology. Over the years it’s become a little scattered between the two. I used Vice Versa Pro to calculate the MD5 and even Sha256 to get the most accurate comparison of what’s missing.

It seems like my network storage now has less space? Will generating the hashes cause data to be eaten up?
