the WD is $110 and the Seagate is $100.

I saw one post on reddit about the Seagate Exos having a high failure rate, but it seemed anecdotal. Not sure it matters.

I plan to initially get a USB sata case and use it for macbook backups, but eventually I think I'll get a synology 4-bay and buy 2 or 3 more.

which of these two would you buy? Or something else?
