hi! i've looked up some similar questions on this subreddit, but i saw people also needing some sort of streaming or sharing from the software: i don't need it. basically, i would like to find a desktop app (preferably for both linux and windows, but only windows would go as well) where i can simply manage media (for example, movies or series). the thing is, most apps are using local files, i don't need it, i just want to manage my library of, for example, movies i've watched, movies i plan to watch, etc (with pulling from some movies database, of course).
it may have some ability to connect local files to library entries, but it is not necessary. overall, something like playnite, but for movies / series / books, etc. (may be different apps or single one, it doesn't matter). preferably opensource and with local database, but any good one would go. i tried tinymediamanager, but it is just too clunky.
so, basically it is some sort of metadata manager that may have ability to play or show media if it is present on device. is it even possible? or maybe there is a hidden option in something like jellyfin/kodi/plex and similar apps? i cannot afford to store all the media i want at once, at least for now.
thank you all in advance!
