Hello all,

I got to the point of my life where i want to have a NAS.

So my first idea is transform an old PC i have into a NAS with True NAS, according to my calculations i would need around 12TB of space, then lets suppose i'm going to mirror that and add some more, so 24TB of space sounds reasonable.

Network at home is about 2.5GBPS, so my idea is to build a setup with roughly 300mb/s of transfer speed, read and write, more than that makes no sense because it will be bottle necked my network anyway.

Do you have any tips on budget hard disks that i can search for on this matter? The cost of the hard disks seems to be a lot higher than the whole project so i'm wondering if someone have any tips to save some cash on this or models to look for?
