If you want to be a swamp witch, nothing is stopping you. Just don't get mad when a party of magic wielders, shape shifters and swordsman show up and kill you, your thralls, and take all your questionable magic items and potions.

You don’t need permission from anyone to be who you want to be. The best part about being an adult is not associating with people you don’t want to associate with!

People just really love women I don't know what to tell you

Swamp witch is all it takes at my age/desperation.

Doesn't the "can" make it clearly an option?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Oh sure. But every time I look for a swamp witch on OnlyFans, I get disappointed and have to watch naked ladies instead.

Kind of related but I really hate people who shame a women for shaving because they want to shave or loose weight because they want to loose weight instead

Let people feel and look they way they want to

Also this is a thing that's never bought up like it's some unmentionable taboo topic but why are men never talked about in the body positivity movement, the movement should represent people as a whole and not one sex

I think it's probably because women are generally judged based on their appearance more than men are, but with that said, I do agree with you.

Swamp witch?

It’s fine the way it is.

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Compared to the modern influencers, hell yes!

When I ~~get financially independent~~ win big I'm going buy me a big bog, do wetlands restoration and become a bog ogre.

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Remember to put up signs. Otherwise all manner of fairy tale creatures might come round bothering you.

[–] tissek@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 year ago

I'd welcome them. And together we will fuck shit up. Because if the fey know one thing it is to fuck shit up.

By the age of 50 you should have realized that society is always its own worst enemy, can never get anything right, should be mercilessly ridiculed, and otherwise completely ignored.

Just as soon as you stop thinking fit dudes your age are hotter than dumpy ones.

[–] MataVatnik@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

[–] zaphod@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Have you seen the prices for a good swamp these days? How do you want to be an unrespectable swamp witch without a good swamp?

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I hear that Shrek is doing alright. His swamp has appreciated so much!

[–] zaphod@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, but he's married some rich woman and is the king of far far away now or whatever. That's just not something the average bog dweller can do.

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Does that mean we can move into his old swamp?

[–] zaphod@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, let's occupy his swamp, let's become swamp squatters.

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Sounds like a communal toilet for hippies.

Helen Mirren has entered the chat...

Mae West did Myra Brenckenridge when she was 77.

If you've reached your 50s and still care that much about the opinion of "Society" you have worse problems than sexiness or lack thereof.

Opinions are like assholes: everybody has one and they often stink.

The one of "Society" is even worse: it's generally a cross between the lowest common denominator and the opinion forming efforts of people who have that power, done for personal gain, power or even for petty psychological self satisfaction (*cough* Trump, Elon Musk *cough*)

For example, the whole "need for sexiness" is often about selling to women the products they need to "make them sexy" (which, IMHO, often does the very opposite), the "expectation" that people have cars is about selling cars and the fuel for them, and opinions like being anti-mask are about tribalism and power through leading a crowd.

No point in worrying about the opinion of most people out there even as individuals, much less the highly manipulated bullshit which is the "opinion" of "Society".

Let me tell you, don't build stuff on a swamp. I know a guy that built a castle, which burned down and then sank under the swamp.

[–] RBWells@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I don't worry about being sexy, since I never really fit that stereotype when younger, there is nothing to miss. I feel good, so am satisfied with my physical existence.

Actual sex, now? Not sexiness? So good as we get older. People told me that when I was younger and I didn't believe them. It's true though.

What does a guy, let's say almost 50,have to do to be a swamp witch? Or would that be a swamp warlock? Asking for...a friend. Because I'm-i mean he's ready to fall off the map and live in a swamp.
